Listen to excerpts from GOOD TO BE HERE,
Michael’s debut CD!

Michael Mark met Tom Chapin when Michael was cast in the original production of COTTON PATCH GOSPEL, music composed by Harry Chapin.  Tom was the musical director of this uptempo bluegrass depiction of the Gospel, and the show made a little bit of theatre history when it re-opened the storied Lamb’s Theatre on 43rd Street and Broadway.

A few years later, Tom began a new part of his career when he started composing songs for elementary-school-aged children and their parents.  Michael was there, collaborating and composing along with composer John Forster and pianist/composer Jon Cobert.  Almost twenty years later, there is a catalog of 11 CD’s, 5 Grammy nominations and countless awards from parents’ organizations, educational organizations, music publications, library organizations. Along the way, Michael had the good fortune to write the theme for television’s ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT, now in it’s 27th year on the air.

This CD is a reflection of the different musical worlds Michael has traveled.  It is thoughtful, lyrical, a melodic delight.
